BMW, a unique and effective ministry!
BMW is unique because it involves only one American paid staff member, Director Dave, overseeing 17 Bengali national in-country staff members who are involved in leading 225 Bible study groups in 17 districts in Bangladesh. The Bible study groups in Bangladesh follow a set study program (one of the best small group materials I have personally used), and BMW regularly tests the students to be sure they understand the Scriptural truths! Once a year Director Dave goes to Bangladesh to conduct graduation exercises in the 5 centralized areas, and to hand out diplomas., as well as to do leadership training.
The ministry Is an effective, reproducing, disciple-making model. It began 5 years ago with 3 in-country Bengali leaders and 150 students. 2017 saw 14 Bengali staff leaders leading 1500 students (a 10 fold increase!) in 14 districts, with 769 students passing the test material and getting a graduation certificate. For 2018, they are expecting 2200 students and 150 leaders in 17 districts! The goal of BMW is to have a presence in all 64 districts of Bangladesh.
