Welcome to our BCT Wall of History, based on the Bible.  Here you can see all of salvation history from the beginning of the world.  Choose any part of the story you wish to hear, but remember that all the parts connect together as one big story.  God wrote this story in the Bible using 40 different authors over 1600 years from the time Moses wrote Genesis to the time John wrote Revelation.

Perfect Creation

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This is a picture of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  God made Adam and Eve last, as the pinnacle of His creation.  He said, “Let us make man in our own image and let him rule over all the creatures.”  “So God created man in His own image; In the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.”  Part of the image of God is the union of male and female.  That’s when God stopped creating and decided everything was very good.  God made the Garden of Eden for them and he told them to work it and take care of it.  He put many delicious fruit trees there for them.  He also put the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  God gave them one command:  do not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  He warned that the punishment for disobedience was death.  Adam and Eve enjoyed the perfection of the garden, including a daily walk with God.

Leaving Eden

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden.  They listened to Satan who said they should eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  Their punishment began right away.  They became ashamed of their sin and hid from God.  God called out to them and then confronted them over their sin and explained their punishment.  The punishment of death did not happen all at once.  It began with all the forms of suffering and evil in the world.  God said, “Cursed is the ground because of you.” It is completed when we die physically which leads to spiritual death under the full wrath of God in the Lake of Fire.  (Only through Jesus can we be saved from this punishment.)  God sent them away from the garden and put angels and a flaming sword to block the way to the Tree of Life, because He wanted to prevent man from living forever in a sinful state.  The peace and harmony of the garden is now replaced by a long war that God declared against Satan.  He told Satan that the Savior, Jesus, would be born of a woman and “He will crush your head and you will strike his heel.”

Noah’s Ark

Bangla Recording

English recording

This picture shows Noah’s ark.  After leaving the garden, Adam and Eve (who had faith in God) had many children and grandchildren.  Most of them did not develop faith in God.  They were conquered by sin and Satan.  Only a few pleased God.  Even though every person died, showing the judgment of God from the Garden of Eden, most people still did not fear God.  They did whatever they wanted, which was evil all the time.  The earth was full of violence which made God very sad.  God decided to give the whole world a reminder of the coming future judgment and to demonstrate His ability to save people from it.  Every person would be killed in a worldwide flood except Noah, his wife, his three sons and their three wives.  They would be saved through the waters in an ark.  Although Noah preached about God’s righteousness and judgment for 100 years while he built the ark, no one believed him.  No one feared God’s judgment.  God told Noah to bring two of every kind of animal into to ark to save them from the flood.  The flood lasted a year and the world had the opportunity to start again without all those wicked people.  However, Noah and his sons continued to pass a sinful nature to all their offspring.  Soon the believers were a very small minority again.

Abraham’s Obedience

Bangla Recording

English recording

This picture shows Abraham about to sacrifice his son, Isaac.  God set his plan in motion to save the whole world when he called Abraham.  He promised, “I will bless you, and I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Abraham believed God and proved his faith by his obedience.  Even when God asked him to sacrifice his precious son Isaac, who was miraculously born of his aged mother Sarah, Abraham obeyed.  God told him to do this on Mount Moriah.  This is the same mountain where the temple with the altar would be built 1000 years later and the same mountain where Jesus would be sacrificed 2000 years later.  God’s command to Abraham proves that because of our sin, good works are not enough to satisfy God.  A perfect human blood sacrifice is required.  The fact that God stopped Abraham from killing Isaac proves that even Isaac was not good enough.  Only the sinless Son of God, Jesus, was good enough to pay for our sin.  God provided the sacrificial animal for Abraham that day.  God was telling us that one day He would provide the final substitute for all of us so that we would not have to die for our sins.  God said to Abraham, “Now I know that you fear God.  I will surely bless you because you have obeyed me.”

Lot escaping Sodom

Bangla Recording

English recording

This picture shows Abraham’s nephew, Lot, and his two daughters, fleeing from the destruction of the city of Sodom.  God decided to make Sodom an example of the final judgment by fire and to remind the world of His ability to destroy and deliver.   This was because Sodom was extremely wicked.  God sent two angels to observe the city and to rescue Lot’s family.  The men of the city tried to sexually assault them.  When Lot warned his two sons-in-law, they laughed at him.  Finally the angels pulled them by the hand out of the city and said, “Run!  Don’t look back!”  But Lot’s wife looked back as God was pouring down burning sulfur out of the sky onto the city.  She became a pillar of salt.  She loved the world too much.  Lot had chosen Sodom for his family because of the beauty and comfort and wealth of that area.  But when God brought a taste of His future judgment of fire on the earth, Lot and his daughters lost all of those pleasures and barely escaped with their lives.

Jacob’s ladder

Bangla Recording

English recording

This picture shows Jacob having a dream from God.  Jacob was the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham.  He was running away from the Promised Land because he thought his older brother was going to kill him.  That’s why he is sleeping on the ground with a rock for a pillow.  In the dream he saw a big staircase all the way from earth to heaven with angels going up and down.  In this dream God repeated all the promises that He had given to Abraham:  Jacob’s descendants would possess the land he was lying on.  They would be extremely numerous and spread every direction.  Through them all peoples on earth would be blessed.  When Jacob woke up, he said, “This place is the house of God!  If God keeps me safe from all danger and brings me back here, then I will honor Him as my God.”  God did keep him safe and brought him back to the Promised Land.

Joseph sold

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Joseph sold by his brothers. Jacob had 12 sons and the 11th was very precious to him.  His name was Joseph.  He gave him an expensive and beautiful coat to show everyone how much he loved Joseph.  Joseph’s older brothers hated him for that.  God gave Joseph dreams which showed that one day Joseph would rule over the whole family.  When he told them the dreams, his brothers hated him even more.  One day when they were far away from their father, they found Joseph and decided to kill him.  They took his coat and threw him into an empty water tank.  Some traders passed by on their way to Egypt.  The brothers decided to make some money and let other people kill Joseph.  The brothers sold Joseph as a slave for 20 pieces of silver.  Then they killed a goat and put its blood on the beautiful coat and showed it to their father.  He believed Joseph was dead and grieved many days.  No one could comfort him.  But God was with Joseph in Egypt, and after many years made him the second highest ruler in the whole land.

Daniel in lions’ den

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Daniel in the lion’s den in Babylon.  When the king of Babylon conquered the kingdom of Judah, he took Daniel as a slave.  But God was with Daniel and helped him become a chief administrator for the king in Babylon.  Some other government ministers were jealous of him and wanted to get him in trouble.  They could find no corruption in him.  So they flattered the king to make a rule that no one had permission to pray to anyone besides the king for 30 days.  Anyone who disobeyed would be thrown into the lions’ den.  When Daniel heard about the new rule, he prayed toward Jerusalem to the true God from his window three times a day, just as he always did, for all to see.  So they threw him into the lions’ den.  All that night the king could not sleep because he loved Daniel.  The king could not deliver Daniel, but God could.  God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths.  The next morning the king pulled Daniel out and threw Daniel’s accusers in.  The hungry lions immediately killed them.

David, brave shepherd

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows David, the good shepherd, protecting the sheep from a bear.  The flock needs a shepherd to lead them, feed them and protect them from danger.  God promised that He would provide a good shepherd for His people, Israel.  He chose David from Bethlehem, to be the shepherd of his people.  When David was growing up, he bravely fought the lion and the bear to protect his flock.  God also saw that David wanted with his whole heart to please God.  So, he told David, “You will shepherd my people Israel and be ruler over Israel.”  God gave David great success, but he sinned and he died, and his descendants did not do nearly as well.  Then the prophet Micah said that God would give Israel a new shepherd from Bethlehem who has been alive from eternity past.  This shepherd would never sin and never die.  He is the Son of David and the Son of God.

Moses in the basket

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Moses’ mother putting him in a basket in the Nile River in Egypt.  The king ordered that his people should find every boy baby of the Jews and throw them into the river to kill them.  That was because God made the Jews grow and the Egyptians were afraid they would join their enemies, fight and escape.  So the Egyptians made them slaves and forced them to work with great cruelty.   Moses’ mother hid him for three months after his birth from all who might kill him.  Then she herself put him in the river, but in a basket covered with tar like Noah’s ark to save him.  The deliverer of the Jews, like Jesus, came in the form of a weak baby that the king sought to kill.  But even the mightiest king cannot stop God’s savior.  The king’s daughter heard Moses crying and took him to be her son.  Miriam, his sister, was watching and offered to find a Jewish mother to nurse the baby for her.  For several years the princess paid Moses’ mother to take care of him.  Then she raised him as a prince of Egypt and named him Moses, which means, “I pulled him out.”

Moses and the burning bush

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Moses approaching the burning bush.  When Moses grew up, he saw an Egyptian beating a Jew and he killed the Egyptian.  The Jews did not rally to his leadership and the king found out and tried to kill Moses.  So, he fled to another country outside of Egypt where he became a shepherd.  One day God appeared to him in flames of fire in a bush.  Moses was amazed that the bush did not burn up and came close to find out why.  Then God called to him from the bush, “Moses, take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.  I am the God of your fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”  At this Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.  God said, “I have heard my people crying because of their slave drivers.  I will rescue them from the Egyptians and bring them out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey.  I am sending you to Egypt to deliver my people from their affliction.”  God was about to give to Israel the land that he had promised to Abraham 600 years earlier.

Red Sea crossing

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Moses parting the Red Sea with the staff of God.  God had put his power in Moses’ staff and he did many miracles with it.  God had said to the king, “Israel is my firstborn son.  Let him go!”  After nine plagues, the king said “No!” nine times. God said, “If you do not let him go, I will kill all of your firstborn sons.”  This was the tenth plague.  During his grief of losing his firstborn the king let Israel go.  However, he changed his mind a few days later and sent his army to recapture them.  The children of Israel—about two million people—were caught between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army!  God told Moses to hold his shepherds’ staff over the sea.  God blew with a strong wind to make a dry path with a wall of water on the right and on the left.  During the night the Israelites went through to the other side.  The Egyptian army quickly followed them, but God slowed their chariots.  Then he told Moses at daybreak to stretch out his hand over the sea and make the waters return.  The entire army of Egypt was drowned, with many lying dead on the shore.  Then the Israelites feared God.  They trusted in Him and in Moses, God’s servant.

Moses and the Ten Commandments

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Moses bringing the Ten Commandments down from Mount Sinai.  The Ten Commandments are the summary of God’s Law which He gave especially for Israel.  God wrote them on stone tablets to be put inside the special box called the Ark of the Covenant in the most special room of the temple called the Holy of Holies.  God’s Law explains what God’s holiness looks like in our lives when we love and obey Him.  God made a covenant with Israel, promising to raise them up and bless them in every way over all the nations of the earth if only they would obey this law.  Although they had recently seen God destroy the greatest military in the world in the Red Sea AND although they had all heard the voice of God speak the Ten Commandments from the top of the mountain AND although they had agreed to the covenant, they broke the first two commandments even before Moses returned to camp from the mountain.  They worshiped other gods and they used a calf idol.  Moses was so angry when he saw this that he threw the stone tablets down and broke them.  Hearing the Law and seeing miracles are not enough to save people who are all born sinners.

David anointed king

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows David being anointed king of Israel by the prophet Samuel.  He was the youngest of seven brothers.  They had to call him from the field where he was shepherding the sheep.  Israel continued to disobey God after Moses, even after God gave them the land he promised Abraham.  God would punish their disobedience, usually by allowing their enemies to hurt them.  Then they would humble themselves and cry to God for help.  God delivered them by different leaders from different tribes.  Once He even used a woman named Deborah!  They never knew where the deliverance would come from.  God wanted them to know that in the future He would send His own Son to deliver them permanently.  So, 400 years after Moses, He chose David to be king and promised that one of his sons would always be on the throne of Israel.  For the next 400 years Israel learned that their deliverer was always going to be the Son of David.  Because of frequent disobedience by the kings, God ended the line of Davidic kings by exiling the nation to Babylon.  The prophet Isaiah proclaimed that the future son of David would be born of a virgin and would be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  His government will always increase and never end.  This is how God will defeat Satan and rule the earth again.

Ravens feed Elijah

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows ravens feeding the prophet Elijah.  During the time of the kings of Israel, many of them were disobedient to God.  Instead of leading the nation to follow God’s Law, they ignored God’s Law and followed the sinful practices of other nations.  They even worshiped other gods, false gods, including idols.  God sent them prophets to urge them to repent of their sins and to show them the way to come back to God.  Although all people are sinners, they do not like to be called sinners, even by a prophet, especially if they are a king.  The kings often treated the prophets very badly.  This was true of Elijah.  In his day the rulers killed many prophets.  Elijah warned the king that because of the disobedience of the nation, God was stopping the rain.  Rain was their only source of water.  After he warned the king of this judgment, God told him to hide at the brook Cherith. God commanded the ravens to bring him food there.  Elijah trusted God, believed His word and obeyed, even though the rulers were against him.  God took care of him.  He stayed there until the brook dried up.

Elijah goes up

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows the prophet Elijah going to heaven in a chariot.  Although wicked Queen Jezebel promised to kill Elijah, Elijah never died.  Through great danger God protected Elijah and gave him power to speak and do miracles.  God gave him the prophet Elisha as his disciple.  Elisha asked for a double portion of his spirit.  When Elijah went up he left his coat for Elisha.  Elisha picked it up and struck the Jordan river with it.  The river opened up and let him walk through, just as Elijah had done.  Elisha became the new leader for all the prophets and he did twice as many miracles as Elijah.

Naaman healed of Leprosy

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Naaman washing in the River Jordan.  Naaman was a very high military leader from Syria, the enemy of Israel.  He got the horrible disease of leprosy which threatened to ruin his life.  A slave girl that he captured from Israel told him he could be cured if he visited the prophet Elisha.  So, he went to see Elisha in Israel. Elisha sent a servant who told him the healing would come if he washed in the Jordan River seven times.  Naaman was angry that Elisha did not speak to him personally, and he thought the rivers in Damascus were better than the Jordan.  He was about to go home without being healed when his servants urged him to obey Elisha’s simple instructions.  After Naaman dipped the seventh time, his skin was totally healed and became like the skin of a young boy.  Naaman believed in the God of Israel because of this.  Although he belonged to a nation that was an enemy of God’s people Israel, in his heart he belonged to the true God.

Job and his friends

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Job talking with his three friends.  Neither Job nor any of his friends understood what had happened to him.  His children died in a storm, his property was stolen and he was suffering greatly from sores covering his whole body.  The friends decided that Job must have done some very evil things that God was punishing him for.  This great suffering was simply God’s justice at work.  They said he should stop hiding his sin.  He should confess it to get back in God’s favor.  Job is quite sure he did nothing to deserve God’s punishment.  He had a very strong record of righteous living.  God was not treating him according to justice.   Their argument went on for a long time because they did not know the truth.  Only the reader of the story knows the truth.  God had pointed out to Satan that Job was “a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”  Satan said Job only did that because God made life easy for him.  “Stretch out your hand against him and he will curse you to your face,” Satan said.   So God gave Satan permission to hurt Job to prove that He truly loved God.  God was proven right and Satan failed in tempting Job to curse God.

The Last Supper

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Jesus breaking bread with His disciples in the Last Supper before His crucifixion.  This was actually the Passover meal.  The Jews celebrated the Passover every year since their liberation from Egypt.  In the meal they remembered that because the blood of the Passover lamb was on their door frame, the death angel passed over their house and struck the Egyptians instead.  Because of the precious blood sacrifice, they went free.  In this Last Supper Jesus changed the meaning.  Instead of remembering the lamb Moses told them to sacrifice, Jesus told them “Remember me.  This is my body; this is my blood shed for the forgiveness of sins.”  John, sitting at the right hand of Jesus, heard him say, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”  John later wrote, “This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down His life for us.”  The next day, at the time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed, Jesus laid down his life on the cross.  He fulfilled His purpose which He said was “to give His life as a ransom for many.”  The apostle Paul said, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Christ, our Passover lamb has been sacrificed!”  Therefore, Christians celebrate the Lord’s Supper often, some even call it the “Love Feast.”

Jesus washing the disciples’ feet

Bangla Recording

English Recording

As the Last Supper began, all twelve disciples were gathered in the upper room of a Jerusalem house.  They were wishing for the servant to come and wash their feet.  But no servant had been hired for that job.  So the meal began anyway.  Jesus knew that God the Father had given Him all authority and that He had come from God and was returning to God.  Rather than focus on His own importance, He wanted to show His disciples how to be a humble servant.  He left the meal, took off his outer clothes and wrapped a towel around his waist.  Then he got a basin of water and washed His disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel.  They were all shocked and Peter objected strongly.  But Jesus said it was necessary.  He said, “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.”  We all need help with common problems.  All disciples from the greatest to the least should help with common problems of the least disciple.  Jesus said, “A new command I give you:  Love one another.  As I have loved you, you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Temptation of Jesus

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Jesus being tempted by Satan.   Immediately after His baptism and God’s announcement that He was God’s beloved Son, the Holy Spirit led him into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan.  Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights at this time.  Satan said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”  Although He was the Son of God and had the power to do so, and although He was very hungry, Jesus refused because doing God’s will is more important than food.  Jesus passed three major temptations during this time, proving that He was the sinless Son of God.  It was important to prove Jesus was sinless because God only accepted a perfect lamb as a sacrifice to take away sin.  When God’s chosen people came through the water and were tested in the wilderness, they failed by sinning for forty years.  But when Jesus came through the water and was tested in the wilderness, He had total victory over Satan.  No wonder the prophet John said, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Baptism of Jesus

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Jesus being baptized by his cousin, the prophet John.  John announced the Lord was coming soon to gather the righteous and burn up the sinners.  To be prepared, everyone needed to thoroughly repent of their sin.  The baptism showed that they believed John and were preparing for the coming of the Lord by repenting.  The Jewish leaders took pride in their position and thought they were safe.  They thought, “We are children of Abraham!”  They did not humble themselves with this baptism.  But Jesus did the most surprising thing.  Although He had never sinned, He asked to be baptized by John.  John objected, knowing Jesus was greater than him.  But Jesus said it was necessary, “To fulfill all righteousness.”  Jesus was already fully righteous.  But we sinners?  We could not even repent fully.  He had to do that for us.  As God, only He could fully know what sin is, and fully reject it.  This was the beginning of Jesus’ ministry.  He took our place in His sin-bearing ministry.  God the Father showed His approval by sending the Holy Spirit from heaven in the form of a dove to land on him.  He also showed His approval by speaking these words:  This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased.

Jesus prays in Gethsemene

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemene.  Immediately after the Last Supper Jesus came here to pray.  He had already predicted many times that He would be betrayed and killed at Jerusalem and raised on the third day.  He knew that Judas had left the supper early in order to lead the arresting party here.  He knew that He would be crucified and die the next day.  He knew that His disciples would all run away. He was very sad and troubled and blood came out in his sweat as he prayed.  He knew that all the sin of the world was going to be placed on Him, and His Father was going to treat Him as a sinner and punish Him on the cross.  This is the horror He did not want.  He had enjoyed the perfect love of the Father from before creation.  Three times He prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”   The perfect Son was obedient to the Father.  He was ready to lay His life down and die.  He did that out of love for us.  He took our place as sinners, so that the Father could treat us as His beloved sons.

Birth of Jesus

Bangla Recording

English Recording

This picture shows the birth of Jesus to His virgin mother, Mary.  The first prophecy of His birth was to Adam and Eve when God said, “The seed of the woman will crush Satan’s head.”  All the prophets spoke about His coming.  Gabriel told Mary that the Holy Spirit would cause her to conceive a son and the child would be called the Son of God.  He would fulfill all the prophecies and she should name Him Jesus.  When Joseph learned that Mary was pregnant, he decided to divorce her because they had not begun to live together and he thought she had sinned.  But an angel from God appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”  When Jesus was born, an angel came to shepherds watching their flocks at night near Bethlehem and announced, “Today, in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you:  You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloths and lying in a manger.”  They hurried and found it just as the angel said.  So they knew that this baby was the promised Savior Messiah from God.  The people they spoke to were amazed.  Later, Magi came from far in the east and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?  We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”  This is how God the Son became a man, so that He was God and He was man at the same time.
