Personal Testimony
Name: Sufhul Soren
My name is Sufal Soren. I am an ordinary boy from Dargapara village, under Bochaganj Police Station in the Dinajpur district. I was born into a family of a different religion, and I grew up following the rituals and customs of my faith. From the time I was old enough to understand, even though I regularly participated in prayers, festivals, and religious activities, I always felt an emptiness inside. This was because whenever there was a religious function in our faith, it created a kind of chaos, leaving me feeling restless. No matter how hard I tried to find peace, I could not find any within myself. I used to wonder—is this what religion is? I also wondered where I would go after death, but I had no way of knowing. My life continued to drift aimlessly.
Encountering Jesus
During my primary school days, I got the opportunity to hear about Jesus. There was a mission school in our neighboring village where I used to study, and Sunday school was held there every week. My friends took me along, and it was there that I first heard the words of the Bible and about Jesus. A teacher (didi) discussed Jesus’ birth, His ministry, His death, and His resurrection. These things amazed me, and a curiosity grew inside me to know more about Jesus. Gradually, I realized that the message of the Bible was completely different.
The Sunday school teacher read John 3:16, which says:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
She explained this verse beautifully, and it touched my heart deeply. I understood and was amazed that someone could love us so beyond measure. Even though we are sinners, He loved us, and if we believe in Him, we will live even after death. This very thought astounded me. It filled me with joy just to think that I could receive eternal life after death so simply. I understood deeply that salvation is not found through rules, deeds, or human efforts, but solely through Jesus Christ. I prayed, repented, and accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord.
My Transformed Life and Assurance
After accepting Jesus, my life began to change completely. The restlessness of my past life started to fade away. Now, I have found a new peace and joy inside that I had never experienced before.
However, I used to have a doubt that struggled against my faith. I worried that even though I was a believer, if I committed a sin, I would lose my eternal life. This doubt weighed heavily on me, but by God’s grace, I got the opportunity to join the BRTTP program. Here, I received a very important teaching: if I commit a sin, I will not lose my salvation, but my close fellowship with God will be temporarily broken. As it is written in the Bible in 1 John 1:9:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
What made me happiest of all is the realization that no one can snatch my salvation away from me—not even Satan or any evil power. As it is written in John 10:28:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
Hearing this assurance filled my heart with even greater joy. Therefore, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to come to this BRTTP course. Now, I no longer fear death because my eternal life is secure in Jesus. The purpose of my life now is to know God more deeply through the BRTTP program and to share this truth with others.
